CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
Our client was looking to achieve a plan that would allow for a refurbishment and expansion of their existing retail store to fit in with the new concept the store wanted to achieve. We were given a 6-week timeframe to meet their new design specification and fully fit out the 18,000 ft² Flannels store.
The details of the works consisted of stripping out of existing walls and ceilings, new floor coverings, new stud partitions, new ceilings, new staff kitchen, new fixtures & fittings, new M&E install, new shop front and alterations and full decoration.
CHALLENGE
As the principal contractor, MCUK conducted a thorough survey of all details within the pre-determined scope of the works, which was to include a full renovation of an existing retail store to fit out a new sports store.
SOLUTION
MCUK advised all aspects from the program of works, structural elements, as well as co-ordinating with the other project managers, client, and sub-contractors on a regular basis throughout the project.
Once all approvals were in place and the client was confident to proceed, MCUK carried out scoping and pre-start meetings with our sub-contractors & client, collated all health & safety information and placed orders accordingly. We then held weekly site meetings with the client’s project manager and other relevant parties, keeping everyone updated and ensuring that the project was delivered as expected and on time.
BENEFIT
The project was successfully completed on time, snag free and within budget. As a result, the client was able to open as scheduled with a store exceeding their expectations. After working previously with this client, the outcome of this project meant that the client wanted to work with MCUK again for many of their upcoming projects.
